Description: Poppy flowers, stems & leaves encircling the entire surface of the vase. The glaze is a spectacular multi-layering of greens with browns as highlights. Bottom markings include the inscribed Double-A, Van Briggle, date of 1903, Roman Numeral III indicating Clay Type – all in the handwriting attributed to Artus Van Briggle; and an impressed Design #143, partially obscured by the glaze on the left edge.
Dimensions: 9.5″ height
Other: An absolutely magnificent glaze effect attributed to Artus himself. The piece was produced in 1903, the first year of the creation of the design by Artus.
