Designer: Possibly Ambrose Schlegel. J. Emma Kinkead attributed all the “plain” designs to Ambrose during periods of Artus’ absence due to his illness, and for a time after his death, before she & Anne began creating designs.
Description: Lovely bottle-shape curves in a striking Deep Purple/Eggplant Glaze, covering the bottom of the vase as well. Bottom markings include the Double-A, Van Briggle, date of 1905, all in the handwriting attributed to Anne Gregory Van Briggle; as well as the impressed Design #317.
