Design #48C
Date Designed: 1902
Designer: Artus Van Briggle
Description: The vase is a bottle-shape in a beautiful light green glaze, with an orange peel texture. The bottom markings are the Double-A and VAN BRIGGLE, in the handwriting attributed to Anne Gregory Van Briggle; with design #48 and size “C” impressed. The “C” after design #48, indicates that this is the middle size of the design. Larger sizes would have been #48B and #48A, with smaller sizes #48 D and #48 E. There is no date inscribed; however, is most likely late 1904, after Artus died, to early 1907 prior to the use of the late 1907 to early 1912 (07-12) marking pattern.
Dimensions: 8.75″ height, 4″ width at base
Other: “H” appears to be written in ink of the base of the vase.
