Description: Poppy Seed Pods encircling the top of the vase, with stems extending the length of the vase; covered in a light application of glaze, with the chocolate clay showing through the high points of the design. Bottom markings are partially obscured by the glaze around the outside circumference. Part of the incised Double-A, Van Briggle, Colorado Springs are all visible, in the handwriting attributed to Anne Gregory Van Briggle.
Dimensions: 6 1/2″ height, 5 1/2″ diameter
Other: Chocolate clay was used most often in 1906 and part of 1907. Anne’s favorite flower was the poppy; and she is credited with several other poppy designs. The original record of this design did not note the designer, however.
