Design: #794
Date Designed: 1909
Designer: Anne Gregory Van Briggle
Description: Turquoise Ming glaze covering the body of the vase; bottom markings include the Double-A, VAN BRIGGLE, COLO. SP’GS. The clay appears to be lighter, with a slightly gritty texture and perhaps shellac covering most of the bottom. Difficult to determine age.
Dimensions: 8 1/4″ height, 2 1/4″ opening, 2 7/8″ exterior edge to edge
Other: This is a redesign of #218, which was Anne’s design of Artus’ #2 Poppy Vase. Anne had noted in the earliest design records that this version was more “naturalistic” and the price was $3.50.
