Design: #899 Siren of the Sea Bowl

Designer: Unsubstantiated, but generally believed that this was the last design by Anne Gregory Van Briggle, before she left the pottery in 1912.
Description: Large bowl with reclining mermaid lying on the side; impression of large fish inside the opposite rim. Flower frog is a conch shell. Both glazed in turquoise blue. Bottom is sandy clay, indicative of the 1920s.
Dimensions: 13 1/2″ width
Other: This piece was not catalogued until 2015. The owner of the piece had discovered a vintage advertisement for the piece, in which the Design #899 was stated.
