Artus was born in Felicity, Ohio in 1869. Claremont is the county seat for Felicity. Their is an active historical society group in Felicity, Ohio. They have been asked to assemble a showcase featuring information on Artus Van Briggle, his life, pottery and paintings.
If you are in Ohio, stop by the Claremont County Administration Building in Batavia; then visit Felicity, the Feedmill Restaurant, and the site of Artus’ birth. Having visited many times; you will find very friendly and interesting people!! Felicity is about 35 minutes southwest of Cincinnati.
